At Ribbon, we work hard so we can play hard, and Perspectives19 is no exception. Perspectives19 is an intensive learning and knowledge sharing forum - jam packed with information, insights, and plenty of networking opportunities. However, we've got big plans to make sure that you also have some fun and see some sights during the conference.

DC Highlights Tour

Guests will be introduced to the nation’s capital and see the best that Washington has to offer! A dedicated certified guide will begin the tour with an overview of Washington, DC and entertain guests with unique, historical and entertaining facts about the city. You will pass by iconic DC memorials and buildings, with views of the White House, Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Smithsonian museums and many more.

From there, the group will see the U.S. Capitol before experiencing the Lincoln Memorial, War Memorials, Jefferson Memorial, Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.

Mount Vernon Estate Tour

As George Washington’s Estate, Mount Vernon is the most popular historic estate in America. Mount Vernon was the beloved home of George and Martha Washington from the time of their marriage in 1759 until General Washington's death in 1799.

At Mount Vernon, guests will enjoy a guided tour of the Mansion, gardens, and grounds. Guests view the original building filled with 18th-century treasures, many of them owned by Washington. Guests will have opportunities to take in the panoramic views of the Potomac River from the terrace, and features information about George and Martha Washington's daily life. Guests will explore the estate and learning center at their leisure.

VIP US Capitol Tour

A historically-trained private guide will meet guests upon arrival at Capitol Hill and lead guests through the U.S. Capitol Building, home to the U.S. Congress and its two legislative bodies, the House of Representatives and Senate. Guests will tour the historic rooms of the Rotunda, Statuary Hall, the Crypt, and the halls outside the House and Senate Chambers where the Congress meets and decisions are made.

If the House or Senate is in session, guests may even have the opportunity to watch from the Gallery above. On this tour, the guide will discuss how Congress works, the history of the building's architecture, and how ordinary citizens participate in the process of the representative democracy.

After touring the inside of the Capitol, guests will venture outside for an overview of Capitol Hill and the surrounding area including the Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and congressional buildings, before boarding the motor coach for return to the hotel.

Bike the Sites Tour

Ride with history and experience the nation’s rich culture by bicycle! This Washington, D.C. tour provides guests the opportunity to see the city’s most popular sights while moving easily between them. Once seated aboard the comfortable rental bikes, guests will be led by a trained guide through the National Mall and Capitol Hill, which stretches over two and a half miles across the center of the city. Throughout the tour, the guide will share fun facts and history about the city and frequent stops will be made for photo opportunities.

Sights include the Capitol Building, Supreme Court, Smithsonian Museums, World War II Memorial, the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and more.

Scandals Tour

This tour will walk through the more sordid past of our founding fathers. From inaugurations gone awry, duels, bigamy, curses, and love affairs, and all of the other misadventures, misfortunes, and misbehaviors of some of the most notable names in American history. Guests will learn which first lady committed bigamy, the history of the secret service, who really saved Washington's portrait when the White House burned, why the Treasury Building blocks the view of the Capitol from the White House, the curse of presidential assassinations, and so much more!

Looking for something a little less fast paced? Take advantage of all the activities the hotel has to offer. Enjoy flavorful dining in the popular restaurants, stretch your muscles in the 24-hour fitness center or go for a run in nearby Rock Creek Park. Stroll down the National Mall, near the hotel, tour memorials and historic monuments, visit the International Spy Museum, climb the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and more all within just minutes from the hotel.
